4to, the complete set of the 7 Volumes. Engraved frontispiece portrait, 10 engraved vignettes, 49 folding maps, plans and plates (2 missing from Vol.VI) and 62 folding tables. The edition was praised by Brunet “Cet ouvrage est recherch des militaires, et se ne trouve pas facilemen”.

Bound in slightly worn brown contemporary full calf with gold-tooled bookplate on the covers. Somewhat faded richly gold tooled spines in six compartments, partly damaged at top or tail, red leather labels. Minor foxing, a few leaves damp stained on the margins.
