Poirson… ”, an engraved folding plate of Sevastopol, 6 fine head & tail pieces (of which a map of the Black Sea), 3 folding tables, a full-page hand-coloured plate of coins and one folding plate of ancient Greek coins. The French politician Baron Jean de Reuilly (1780-1810) traveled extensively in the East and took the opportunity to explore the Black Sea (along with Pallas) just after the opening of the area for the international trade. The first part of the book describes the natural resources, inhabitants, customs and antiquities of the area. A detailed itinerary of the journey is also provided. The second part details the commercial activities including agriculture, fishing and industry.
