Coronelli V. M., "Antica, e moderna citta d’Atene, dedicate dal P. Coronelli”, Venice 1689-90. Big (62x46cm) copper engraved map of Athens with the plan of the city and the immediate surrounding areas (today the center of the city). The map has been drawn by the Capuchin monks in 1672 and published firstly in smaller scale as part of a book (Paris 1675). This enlarged and enriched edition has been made by Coronelli just after the conquest of Athens. Very rare edition of the assumed first map of Athens. Folded horiz. and vertically, one tear 4cm on upper part, creasing spots, few more marginal small tears. Rare.
