500 Drachmas (18.12.1944) provisional treasury note, issued in Kerkyra. Black ovpt on back of 1000 Drachmas (ND 1942 / Hellas #I.16a). New S/N: "13760". After liberation, the boat carrying fresh notes to Corfu sank, and it was authorised to overprint italian occupation notes, until new notes arrive. Printed in Italy, overprinted in Corfu. Two pinholes. Inside holder by PMG "Choice Fine 15 - Annotation". (Hellas 274) & (Pick 155). Very rare!
